How To Make Your Own Cuticle Softener


Beautiful hands gets attention when you have a beautiful shiny nails but maintaining it is not an easy task. A good and healthy nail growth solution has much to do with the state in which your cuticles currently are. This is a fundamental part to keep nail free from infections, dehydration and other problems that may affect their appearance.

The cuticle is the protective layer of skin at the base of the finger or toe nail that often become dry and ragged as it builds up. To make it easier to put back or remove during regular nail care, a softener is often applied.

Here’s a cuticle softener recipe that you can make yourself in the comfort of your home.


1 teaspoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon honey

1 teaspoon almond oil/ olive oil


Add the honey and almond oil or olive oil to the lemon juice.

Whisk the ingredients until blended well.

Dip each finger into the mixture. Leave for up to 10 seconds.

Using a cuticle tool, push down on the cuticles gently.

Massage into the nails using a circular movement until absorbed.


Never cut the cuticles because they are sealed barriers that prevent infection.
