Isco put United to the sword with a man of the match display in last night’s Super Cup.
The Real midfielder was on target as Zinedine Zidane’s European champions won 2-1 in Macedonia.
However it could have all been very different.
ESPN report Isco was scouted by United towards the end of Sir Alex Ferguson’s spell in charge at Old Trafford.
But they decided not to follow up their interest with a bid after the midfielder was described as having a head ‘too big for his body’.
ESPN say the scouting report read: “He’s good, but not quite quick enough and his head is too big for his body.”
Real signed Isco from Malaga in 2013 for £23m.
