NNPC prepares grounds for oil exploration in Bauchi, Gombe


The Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Pertroleum Corporation, Dr Maikanti Baru, has disclosed that the corporation has concluded plan to mobilize heavy equipments to Bauchi and Gombe state in expectation of oil exploration which will begin soon.

Baru stated this while speaking to Journalists yesterday at Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport, Bauchi.

Baru call on the citizens of the two states not to panic when they see the movement of the equipments into the states.

The NNPC GMD who was received by the senior officials of the corporation and the Bauchi state Chief of staff , Audu Sule Katagum said his mission to the two states was to sensitize the people on the activities on the oil exploration.

He said “We are here to signify our intention to sensitize the good people of Bauchi and Gombe states on our efforts to mobilize back into the Gongola Basin.

Our intention is to start 3D seismic acquisition and cover as much of the basin as possible. To continue the work Interms of exploring hydrocarbon in the North East. Of course our activities in the Chad Basin will also be re-activated as soon as we get the clear sign.
