Niger’s military ruler recommends a three-year transition period and warns against attacks.

Niger’s new military ruler declared on Saturday that the transition of power would not last more than three years, and that any attack on the country would be difficult for those involved.
“Our ambition is not to seize power,” general abdourahamane tiani stated on television, adding that an attack on Niger would not be “a walk in the park.”
His warning came as a West African bloc mission arrived in the country for a final diplomatic push before determining whether to launch military action.
