First Lady highlights women’s empowerment and ICT training

The Renewed Hope Initiative’s Women ICT Training Empowerment Program has been launched by First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

Her Special Advisor on Media, Bisola Kukoyi, stated in a statement that the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and her team collaborated to create a five-day training program exclusively for women in the Federal Capital Territory.

The First Lady stated that women should take advantage of the training opportunity to advance their knowledge, as digital literacy is the way of the future. She was represented by Hon. Wahab Alawiye-King, Senior Special Advisor on Policy, Strategy, and Logistics.

Information technology, she pointed out, could be exploited as a one-stop shop for liberation and economic progress.

Mrs. Tinubu reaffirmed her resolve and dedication to improving women’s status in the nation.

Dr. Aristotle Onyemaechi, Director of Corporate Planning and Strategy at NITDA, previously spoke

claimed that his organization’s goal was to increase youth digital literacy in order to further Nigeria’s economic transition.

He stated that women were essential to this and expressed the hope that the recipients would represent RHI and digital literacy in Nigeria.
