Maduka Okoye, the Super Eagles’ goalkeeper, has joined Udinese Calcio.

Maduka Okoye, a Nigerian international, has signed a four-year contract with Udinese Calcio.
On Thursday, the Serie A club announced his permanent transfer from English Championship side Watford FC for an unknown amount.
The 23-year-old goalkeeper joined Watford from Eredivisie side Sparta Rotterdam after Ben Foster left the club, but he struggled to gain minutes, appearing only twice in the FA Cup and League Cup last season.
Okoye began his career at Bayer Leverkusen before moving on to Fortuna Düsseldorf, where he established himself as one of the world’s top young goalkeepers.
He will wear jersey number 40 for the club and will compete with first-choice goalkeeper Marco Silvestri for a spot.
Okoye made his Super Eagles debut in a friendly against Brazil in 2019 and has made 16 appearances for the national team.
