Bray Wyatt, a former WWE champion, has died.

Bray Wyatt, a former World Wrestling Entertainment champion, died on Thursday, according to the promotion. He was 36 years old at the time.

WWE did not immediately disclose the location or cause of death, but did state that it was unexpected.

Windham Rotunda, Wyatt’s true name, was the son of WWE Hall of Fame wrestler Mike Rotunda.

“Our thoughts are with his family, and we ask that everyone respect their privacy at this time,” WWE’s chief content officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, stated on social media.

Wyatt won the WWE Championship in 2017 and has wrestled as a member of The Wyatt Family as well as a horrific masked alter ego known as The Fiend.

“I’m heartbroken over the passing of Bray Wyatt,” actor and former wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson tweeted on social media. “I’ve always had a lot of respect and affection for him and the Rotunda family.”
