Twelve perish in a boating incident off the coast of Nasarawa

A boat disaster on the River Kogi Kungra Kamfani in Arikiya, Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State is said to have killed 12 people.

The victims were claimed to be on their way to the farm when the disaster occurred, killing 12 of the 19 people on board the boat.

The state House of Assembly condemned the occurrence as tragic, adding the deaths of the 12 people were a significant loss to the state.

The lawmakers expressed their condolences to the state administration, the Lafia local government, and the families of those who died in the Kogi Kungra Kamfani river in Arikiya, Lafia Local administration Area of the state.

“It is very sad that we lost 12 people, both men and women, in a boat mishap in Arikiya, Lafia LGA,” stated Speaker Ibrahim Abdullahi. On behalf of myself, members, employees, and the entire Nasarawa people, we express our condolences to the dead families, Lafia LGA, and the state government. We pray for their souls to rest.”
