Regarding the death of a retired Benue judge, police detain one suspect.

One individual has been detained by the Benue State Police Command in relation to the death of retired judge Justice Margaret Igbetar.The writer had previously detailed how the deceased president of the Benue Customary Court of Appeal was discovered in a deteriorating state at her home on Thursday.
A copy of the statement provided by SP Catherine Anene, the spokesperson for the state command, to journalists on Saturday in Makurdi revealed that Aondohemba Joseph had been taken into custody.
The statement was partially written as follows: “On August 24, 2023, at around 1530 hours, information was received at Makurdi’s “E” Police Division regarding Justice Margaret Mary Igbetar (retired), who was unable to reply to calls and was not in the area. Detectives were dispatched right away to begin their investigation.
She was found dead in a pool of blood in her kitchen following a search of her home at Wantor Kwange Street, Gboko Road, Makurdi. She was also found to have significant cuts on her back.
One Aondohemba Joseph was apprehended after more inquiry, and evidence was retrieved for a thorough examination.The PPRO delivered the family a condolence message from CP. Bartholomew Onyeka, the Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command, while denouncing the heinous conduct.
