The demise of Chief Victor Bala Kona, the former Taraba State PDP Chairman, has occurred.

After a brief illness, he passed away in Abuja early on Sunday morning.

In a press release verifying the Bala Kona’s demise, Emmanuel Bello, the governor of Taraba State’s media assistant, described the Bala Kona’s exit as excruciating.

Not only did we lose a political icon, but we also lost a father and the epitome of a family man. Hon. Victor Bala Kona will always have a valued and secure place in our history. His passing occurred just when his depth of wisdom and experience was most needed.

“I am sending my deepest sympathies to his family and to all of us who are left to grieve this upsetting and irreversible loss.”

The PDP’s public relations officer for the state, Andeta’rang Irammae, released a press statement in which she expressed the party’s sadness at the news of the former Chairman’s passing and prayed to God for his soul to rest.

“It is tragic and enormous that he has left us at this point in our political journey, as the government and party he had devotedly served would have benefited greatly from his wealth of experience and insight.”

From March 2012 to August 2020, the deceased served as the party’s chairman, putting in many hours to ensure the party’s expansion and continued leadership in the state.

Before Kefas resigned to run for the state’s governorship on the party platform and win, the deceased gave him the position of Chairman of the party.
