‘How did you get to university without having an elementary or secondary education?’ Atiku takes on Tinubu

Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate for the 2023 election, has slammed President Bola Tinubu over his academic achievements at Chicago State University (CSU) in the United States.

The former Vice President had recently petitioned a US court for an injunction ordering CSU to divulge Tinubu’s academic records.

Tinubu’s qualifications suggest that he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, and management from CSU in 1979.

On Sunday, Atiku asked how President Tinubu was able to attend Chicago State University without having completed primary and secondary school.

“I woke up this morning wondering how we got to this cul de sac,” Atiku wrote. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu said in 1999 that he attended St. John’s Primary School in Aroloya, Lagos, before moving on to Children Home School in Ibadan.

“His next stop on his educational journey, he said, was Government College Ibadan, followed by Richard Daley College and Chicago State University in the United States.”

“Intriguingly, Tinubu decided to attend only Chicago State University in 2023.” I’m scratching my brow. How is this even possible? All well-meaning Nigerians, I believe, should be as perplexed as I am by Tinubu’s claim that he has no primary and secondary schooling but holds a university degree. You might want to #AskTinubu how he accomplished this accomplishment so that we might benefit from his brilliance.”
