The Kaduna State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) reports that its officers have arrested 84 people and recovered 451.976kg of illicit substances in Kaduna.

Ibrahim Braji, the state Commander of the NDLEA, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Kaduna that the arrest and seizure took place in July.

Braji stated that six people were convicted during the period under consideration.

According to the commander, among the drugs seized were Indian hemp, cocaine, methamphetamine, tramadol, and other psychotropic substances.

The total weight of drugs confiscated throughout the review period is 451.976kg.”

The commander also revealed that its operatives discovered 90 rounds of live ammunition, 7.62mm calibre live bullets, and a new Josef pump action rifle with registration number 23-0174.

“During the month under review, 18 illicit drug joints across the state were demolished, including Kantin Agah, Hayin Dan-mani, Mando, Unguwan Dosa, Mararabar Rido, Tukur-Tukur, and Sabon Gari.”

“The others are Paladin, Unguwar Doki, Mekera, Rigasa, Dan Daura, Karji, Ghana Road, Television, Unguwar Ma’azu, Kudenden, and Jushi.”

Braji urged parents to keep an eye on their children and know who their children associate with at all times.

He cautioned illegal drug sellers to seek better opportunities, saying that if they refused, the agency would go after them and guarantee they faced the full force of the law.
