Beware of “dangerous,” Adesanya In Strickland

Sept. 27’s UFC 293 main event features a fight between Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland. At first, it seemed likely that “The Last Stylebender” would square off against Dricus du Plessis following the South African’s incredible upset victory over Robert Whittaker at UFC 290. But an injury pushed “Stillknocks” out of the game.
Adesanya claims that the UFC did not seem to be all that interested in fighting Strickland, so he had to persuade the organisation to set up a fight.
Prior to their pay-per-view match, “The Last Stylebender” has now given a preview of his opponent, and the middleweight champion will not be taking Strickland lightly.
Adesanya stated the following in a recent interview with Combat TV:To be honest, I’ll give Strickland a three [out of ten] on the threat metre in terms of skill. However, a man who has everything to gain and nothing to lose is a dangerous man. I put forth the effort in this camp because I took him seriously.
Although both guys are skilled strikers, their approaches to success are very different. While Israel Adesanya is a more skilled counter-striker who sets traps for his opponents, Sean Strickland dominates opponents with a mix of relentless pressure and a high striking output.
