Residents in Bayelsa raid and plunder a palliative care warehouse.

On Sunday, residents of Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State, allegedly attacked and plundered a warehouse containing palliatives.
The 2022 flood palliatives were housed in a warehouse in the Kpansia area of the state capital.
However, it has not been established whether the subsidy palliatives handed by President Bola Tinubu to states to mitigate the consequences of subsidy reduction are among the things plundered by hungry locals.
The Bayelsa State Emergency Management Agency confirmed the invasion of the warehouse at around 7:45pm on Sunday, almost an hour after the Director-General, Walamam Igrubia, and some BYSEMA personnel left the warehouse premises, adding that the Agency used the warehouse to store food items during the 2022 flood in the state.
In the statement, BYSEMA condemns the actions of the unidentified individuals who stormed the premises of a warehouse, as well as the attempt by opposition elements in the state to politicise the situation.
