The state pledges that delivery of the subsidised rice palliative will begin on Tuesday.
The Osun administration claims to have received N2 billion from the N5 billion provided by the Federal administration as a state palliative.
Kolapo Alimi, the state’s Commissioner for Information, made the announcement on Monday in Osogbo.
Alimi stated that the Palliative Committee would make the template and payment methods at their next meeting.
The commissioner, on the other hand, stated that the state government, in collaboration with the ministry of special tasks and regional integration, will commence distribution of the subsidised rice palliative on Tuesday.
The committee has completed the way of sharing, he said, adding that beneficiaries would begin receiving rice palliatives according to a timetable designed to capture everyone.
“There will be 5,700 subsidised rice palliatives distributed in total.”
“3,000 50kg bags of rice from the first batch of palliatives, and 2,700 50kg bags of rice from the 14,000 second batch,” he explained.
The state was still awaiting 11,300 bags of 50kg rice and 3,000 metric tonnes of corn from the federal government, according to the commissioner.
“We urge our people to be orderly as the distribution and collection of rice palliatives begins.”
“And as a government, we assure everyone that the palliatives provided by the federal government to the state will reach the intended beneficiaries across the state,” he said.
