Angelino scored the game-winning goal as Galatasaray advanced to the Champions League group stage at the expense of Molde after a 2-1 win in the play-off round second leg on Tuesday, while Braga also advanced.

Galatasaray qualified for the Champions League for the first time since 2019 after defeating Molde 5-3 on aggregate.

Mauro Icardi’s seventh-minute penalty gave the Istanbul giants a 3-2 lead from the first leg last week.

In the second half, Eirik Hestad gave Molde optimism, and Veton Berisha thought he had levelled the game only to have his goal thrown out for offside.

Angelino, a former Manchester City left-back, scored in injury time to ensure Galatasaray’s qualification.

Braga triumphed 1-0 against Panathinaikos in Greece to take the series 3-1.

The Portuguese team, which finished third in the Primeira Liga last season, will compete in the group stage for only the third time and for the first time in 11 years.

Bruma scored late in the game to decide a tense second leg.

After a goalless first game, Swiss side Young Boys advanced by defeating Israelis Maccabi Haifa 3-0 at home.

After a 2-2 first-leg draw, PSV Eindhoven hosts Rangers on Wednesday, while FC Copenhagen and Royal Antwerp defend one-goal leads against Rakow and AEK Athens, respectively.
