The Kano Hisbah board stated that it has purchased furniture, food, clothing, and other supplies worth over N800 million as part of the state government’s planned mass wedding for over 1,000 couples in the state.

Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, the Board’s Commander General, made the revelation while examining the goods for the mass wedding.

Sheikh Daurawa stated that each bride would receive a set of beds, mattresses, and pillows, as well as N20,000 to help her establish a company.

He added that the nice gesture would go a long way towards reducing societal vices, as many marriages were postponed due to parents’ inability to finance the wedding.

“The mass wedding has three advantages,” he says. It will assist parents who want to marry off their children but are unable to do so owing to financial constraints. As a result of this predicament, many marriages were postponed.

“Second, it is to prevent immorality since Satan can use a divorced woman or lady in the process if she want to marry.

“Third, it will improve a family’s social and economic life.”

“This is Hisbah’s wedding.” You have no right to take advantage of the wedding. “Whoever breaks the marriage will be reimbursed for wedding expenses,” Sheikh Daurawa stated.

The commander-general insisted that criteria for selecting recipients had been established, and that anyone found guilty of divorcing his wife after the marriage would be required to pay for the commodities acquired from the state government.

Remember that the state’s mass weddings were launched by Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso’s administration, which was followed by former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s administration.
