Ogun LG chief, who accused Abiodun of diverting cash, is suspended by council members.

The LG chief recently accused Governor Abiodun of hiding federal government money intended for state LGAs.

Following his allegation against Governor Dapo Abiodun, the Chairman of the Ijebu East Local Government Area, Wale Adedayo, has been suspended by a quorum of councillors in the area.

Adedayo was suspended for three months on suspicion of mismanagement and financial mismanagement.

The LG boss confirmed the event to ThePunch, saying officers and thugs attacked the LGA secretariat on Thursday morning.

“It could be real. “Policemen and thugs attacked the office this morning,” he told the publication.

Adedayo recently accused Governor Abiodun of hiding federal government money intended for state LGAs.

Adedayo’s suspension was revealed in a letter signed by Akindele Fasheyi, the leader of the Ijebu-East Legislative Council, and the six others.

“The Legislative Council received various allegations that needed to be investigated, and it has directed Mr. Adedayo to appear at its next sitting on September 14,” said the councillors.

Remember that on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, 18 of Ogun State’s 20 local government chairmen went to Abiodun to beg forgiveness for Adedayo’s alleged comments and letter.
