Several opposition presidential candidates who ran in the 2023 general election met with the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje on Thursday, pleading with him to convince President Bola Tinubu to include them in his “Government of National Competence.”

In response to demands for a Government of National Unity, Tinubu, as president-elect, stated that he would establish a “Government of National Competence.”

The presidential candidates of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Action Democratic Party, National Rescue Movement, and Action Peoples Party, among others, met with Ganduje at the National Secretariat of the party.

Ambassador Felix Osakwe, the presidential candidate of the National Rescue Movement, spoke on behalf of the Forum of Concerned Presidential Candidates during the visit.

He stated that they are committed to the peace and development of Nigeria, hence their refusal to contest Tinubu’s mandate before the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
