Asake makes me think of Lil Wayne. – Jazzy Don

Michael Collins Ajereh, aka Don Jazzy, a top producer and music executive, has compared Asake to American rapper Lil Wayne.

Lauding his musical skills, Don Jazzy claimed he once witnessed Asake perform, and was swept away which made him acknowledge that ‘Lil Wayne is born’.

This was revealed by the Mavin boss during a podcast discussion with DJ Big N.

He went on to define Asake as a star artist that the music industry does not always have.

“Asake is such a brilliant artist,” Don Jazzy added. He’s an artist who doesn’t come around very often, but when he does, you know a star has been born.

“When I first saw him, I thought, wow, and he can sing.” This is his mellow side. And I looked at him and said, ah, Lil Wayne is born.”

Recall that the ‘Lonely at the Top’ singer won the Album of the Year and Next Rated categories at the 16th Headies awards, which were held in Atlanta, Georgia, over the weekend.
