FAO reports that global rice prices have reached a 15-year high.

According to the Food and Agriculture Organisation, global rice prices reached a 15-year high in August after big supplier India restricted some overseas shipments of the grain.
While global food prices fell in August, rice prices climbed 9.8 percent year on year, “reflecting trade disruptions in the aftermath of India’s ban on Indica white rice exports,” the FAO stated in a monthly report.
