Adegboyega Oyetola, the minister of marine and blue economy, stated that the All Progressives Congress in Osun State is expelling undesired persons from the organisation.

Recently, the APC in Osun suspended Moshood Adeoti, the former secretary to the state government, and 25 other people for allegedly engaging in anti-party activities. It also expelled Rasaq Salinsile, a former factional chairman, and 83 other members of the Omoluabi Caucus, which was led by a former governor, Rauf Aregbesola.

Speaking at a small reception hosted in his honour by the APC’s Osun leadership on Thursday, Oyetola gave an explanation of why he supported the expulsion and suspension of the party’s dissident members and challenged the party’s devoted members to put in more effort and grow the organisation.

We are grateful to God for everything that he has done for us. We are grateful that the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal confirmed our victory on Wednesday. It confirmed our President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s win.Indeed, we were striving for a second term, but God knows that the moment is not right.

He has already bestowed upon us a president and a minister today. The fact that our party is cohesive and strong makes me glad. By the grace of God, we are really sorting the chaff from the grain, and our celebration will be organised.

“Everyone in the APC is a member of our party, and it is ours.” If it is indeed our shared heritage, then no one should consider dismantling the party. There’s potential for healing. He declared, “We support sincere reconciliation and nothing less.

“It is our collective responsibility to strengthen the party, not undermine it. It is our responsibility to make sure that the person seeking reconciliation is sincere in their regret for their previous transgressions and is prepared for the reconciliation.”I want our party’s supporters to stay strong and not let the circumstances that brought us to this point get to them down.

We give God praise for winning the centre. The governor went on, “The age of empowerment has arrived.”Oyetola has promised that the Prof. Isaac Adewole committee’s findings, which was given the task of repositioning the party, will be implemented in the interim.

“We have listened carefully to the report and the next step is for the party to set up an implementation committee which shall review the recommendations and take appropriate steps to implement the recommendations,” the minister stated in a speech on Friday while accepting the committee’s report in Osogbo.

We pledge to put the committee’s suggestions into practise in a way that will support the party’s repositioning.

“We have made the decision to collaborate in order to maintain the growth, harmony, and advancement of the APC in Osun State. We will continue to use our resources as a party to care for women, children, and party members in general.

In his previous speech, Adewole outlined the various factors that contributed to the APC’s downfall in the state, including bad leadership, irregular salary and pension payments, a deficient reward system, imposition by party officials, and a breakdown between the party and the government.:-
