We’ll keep Nigerians from becoming impoverished – FG

On Friday, the Federal Government said that its goal is to keep Nigerians from falling into poverty in addition to eradicating it.In Maiduguri, Borno State, during a two-day working visit, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Betta Edu, revealed this, according to a statement released in Abuja by her Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Rasheed Zubair.

The minister stated that President Bola Tinubu has pledged to reduce humanitarian crises and eradicate poverty in Nigeria in order to fulfil Sustainable Development Goals 1 and 2.

He was greeted by Prof. Babagana Zulum, the governor of Borno State.”It is critical that the humanitarian ministry reestablishes its collaboration with the state and capitalises on the state’s accomplishments and expertise to identify more effective approaches to doing things,” Edu said.

“Under my leadership, the ministry will work to end poverty while also ensuring that Nigerians have safety nets to keep them from falling below the poverty line.”She told the governor that by 2024, the Federal Government would restore Nigerian migrants and refugees to their various homes.

In order to reach predetermined goals, she stated that mechanisms for the return and reintegration of internally displaced individuals into their different communities must be put in place. She also mentioned that in order to accommodate more people, the national social register will be extended and cleaned up.
