Former PDP Chairman Tukur, 88, is praised by Tinubu

Tukur previously served as the executive president of the African Business Roundtable, the minister of industries, and the general manager of the Nigerian Ports Authority.
Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, the former executive governor of the erstwhile Gongola State, will turn 88 on Friday. President Bola Tinubu wishes him a happy birthday.
In honouring this new era, which has been ushered in by years of dedicated and self-sacrificing contributions to the growth of Nigeria’s corporate and public sectors, the President joins the family, friends, business associates, and political allies of Tafidan Adamawa and Wakilin Ganye.
According to Tinubu, Tukur has a long history of generosity and devotion to the country in a variety of positions.
He praised the former PDP chairman for his visionary leadership, which is strikingly demonstrated by his democratic credentials as a candidate in and winner of elections while persistently promoting statewide good governance.
Tukur was previously the Executive President of the African Business Roundtable and Chairman of the NEPAD Business Group. He was also the former General Manager of the Nigerian Ports Authority and Minister of Industries.
The president claimed that Tukur’s vast knowledge and experience, accumulated over many years of service, would always be a valuable resource for the development of Nigeria and Africa.
To the celebrant, Tinubu prayed for courage, health, and overall well-being.
