Kwara Government will involve traditional leaders in implementing policy

The Commissioner stressed that the ancient institution contributes to preserving tranquilly in the state and the country as a whole.

The Kwara Government promised traditional leaders on Thursday that they would be sufficiently involved in the implementation of policies and programmes that would directly benefit the populace.

The guarantee was given in Ilorin by Hon. Abdullahi Bata, the State Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Community Development, who was paying the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, a courtesy visit.

According to the commissioner, the purpose of the visit was to establish a personal connection with the Emir and to get his royal sanction for the appointment of the cabinet in charge of the traditional institutions. He stressed the vital roles that traditional institutions played in preserving harmony within the state and across the entire country.

While promising the Emir that he would always be accessible to discuss matters affecting the development of the state, Bata extended his gratitude to him for the warm welcome he received during the visit.

He thanked the Emir for the assistance provided during the previous four years to the State Governor, Malam Abdulrahaman AbdulRazaq, and his appointments.

Gambari replied that he was pleased with the commissioner’s visit and that it would provide them the chance to talk about matters pertaining to the operations of the state and the traditional institutions, respectively.

The Emir expressed confidence that Bata will use his wealth of knowledge for the benefit of everyone in the state. The traditional head of state continued by saying that the Emirate would provide the required assistance and suggest potential solutions for the advancement of the nation.

Gambari asked God to direct the commissioner in running the ministry’s business.
