The APC’s one-party state scheme will collapse – Labour Party

The Labour Party has stated that it is confident that Nigerians will resist efforts by the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to push Nigeria to become a one-party state.

Obiora Ifoh, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, stated this in a phone interview with Vanguard on Thursday in Abuja.

He added that the APC was determined to eliminate opposition parties by causing a crisis in order to increase its membership.

“It is unfortunate that the APC, which benefited from a substantially free and fair election in 2015, has gradually destroyed the credibility of substantive elections since it came to power,” Ifoh added.

“We are aware of their plans to cause chaos, frustrate our pending court case, destroy our party, and collapse our structures into the APC by using some of our expelled members.”

“We are pleased to report that Nigerians have seen through all of these schemes and are more determined than ever to remain committed to the ideals of a new Nigeria that the Labour Party and our Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, stand for.”

“Nigerians have never had it so bad in their lives.” We have a ruling party that has obviously proved an inability to address Nigeria’s numerous problems.

“A party that, despite a stolen mandate, has brought nothing but pain and misery to the majority of Nigerians.”

“We remain hopeful that the Supreme Court will consider the facts of our case and rule in favour of justice and the future of our country and democracy.”
