Mohbad was buried in the state’s Ikorodu region after passing away in a hospital in Lagos.

The late musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known by his stage name Mohbad, may have his body exhumed, according to the Lagos State Police Command, in order to help with their investigation into the circumstances of his passing.

Since the 27-year-old musician passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, there has been debate concerning the reason of his death, with his admirers blaming his former record label management.

In a live interview with media personality Ifedayo Olarinde nicknamed Daddy Freeze on Thursday, SP Benjamin Hundeyin of the Lagos State Police indicated that the police would look into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death.

The Force PRO released a statement this evening (Thursday) stating that an investigation would begin, and that is what we are going to do, Hundeyin added. The body will be exhumed if necessary. It’s still possible. It is possible to exhume the remains and conduct an autopsy.

Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the force’s public relations officer, had earlier promised that the police will conduct a thorough inquiry.

“Our deepest sympathies go out to the family, friends, and supporters of the late Mohbad, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, who died away lately. We are aware of the worries surrounding his premature passing, Olumuyiwa stated.

“The Lagos State Commissioner of Police has been tasked with determining the circumstances surrounding his death, and the Nigeria Police Force is dedicated to conducting a thorough investigation into this case. As investigations progress, updates will be given, so don’t worry.

“We urge members of the family or close friends who may have important information to contact the Lagos State Commissioner of Police to help with this procedure. We respectfully ask that people hold off on saying anything or taking any actions that would endanger the ongoing inquiry in the interim. We respect your confidence and assistance greatly.

Since the musician passed away, a number of conspiracies have surfaced, particularly on social media, where many claimed that his demise was caused by an alleged altercation with his previous record company, Marlian Records, which is run by notorious singer Naira Marley.

The young musician was buried in the state’s Ikorodu region after passing away in a hospital in Lagos in a somewhat unusual fashion.
