Genevieve Nnaji, Nollywood’s crown gem, is back and looking good. Last year, the actress vanished from the big screen, leaving her 8.4 million Instagram followers in the dark.

The good news is that the screen goddess has resurfaced. She was sighted at the Toronto International Film Festival, where her latest film, “I Do Not Come to You By Chance,” premiered last weekend.

The film is a standout feature in the 2023 Centrepiece programme of the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival. Chinny Carter and Chioma Onyenwe co-produced it, and Chika Anadu and Ishaya Bako wrote the intriguing script.

‘The Lion Heart’ actress has also returned to social media, sharing a stunning new selfie with her admirers. It was a happy development among her colleagues, who instantly celebrated her return in her comment area.

Ini Edo led the pack, writing “Hey honey,” while Mercy Eke referred to her as “The Queen.” Uche Jombo hailed Genny as a “beautiful woman,” Rachael Okonkwo as “my Ijele,” and Annie Dibia as “a queen and more.”

‘My queen,’ Waje wrote, adding, “It’s very lovely to see you. “I will always love you.” “The most beautiful,” Mary Igwe wrote, “welcome back my Queen.” Others who have paid tribute to the timeless actress include Iyabo Ojo, Stella Damasus, Funke Akindele, and Destiny Etiko.

Genny’s reappearance at the festival after nearly a year’s absence has put to rest the debate over her mental health that dominated social media last year.

The actress raised eyebrows in May 2022 when she deleted all of her Instagram postings and unfollowed everyone. The actress has since disappeared. Genny was afterwards said to have moved to the United States.
