Nigerian millennial Mowalola Ogunlesi is setting trends in the city of London’s fashion

International media attention is being drawn to Nigeria’s fashion industry, and Nigerians living abroad are dominating the fashion industry. Mowalola Ogunlesi is one such person.
If you’re wondering why the name is well-known, it’s because her brother is Odunsi Ogunlesi, better known as the alt singer Odunsi the Engine. Ruff N Tumble is a well-known brand of children’s apparel owned by her mother, Adenike Ogunlesi. You could say that creativity is something that runs in the family.
Mowa, who is 28 years old, has a long list of accomplishments. She was born in Nigeria and moved to London, United Kingdom, to attend the University of Arts in 2017. Her career has since taken a trajectory of which many people can only dream.
She presented herself at London Fashion Week in 2019 and attracted Skepta’s interest. She styled Naomi Campbell in a contentious outfit that same year.
She was one of the six designers British Vogue hired to style Barbie dolls for the company’s 60th anniversary. She also created the clothing for Skepta’s Pure Water music video in 2019. Kanye West selected Mowa to lead the Yeezy Gap design team in 2020.
