A tribunal validates Lawal’s victory over Matawalle in the Zamfara election, breaking

The Zamfara state gubernatorial election of Lawal is upheld by the tribunal.

Dauda Lawal was duly elected as the governor of Zamfara State by the Zamfara State Election Petition Tribunal, which met in Sokoto.

On March 18, 2023, Governor Lawal decisively defeated outgoing Governor Muhammad Bello Matawalle to start on his route to triumph.

Governor Lawal’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, announced the information in a press release on September 18, 2023, in Gusau. He emphasised that the tribunal’s decision reflects the collective will and tenacity of the Zamfara people.

Dauda Lawal was declared the victor of the March 18, 2023, Governorship election by the Zamfara Governorship election tribunal, which was in Sokoto, Idris said. Instead of being unexpected, this judgement just affirms the unanimous decision taken by the resolute people of Zamfara.

The governorship race was won by Governor Dauda Lawal by a significant margin of 65,750 votes. With a total of 377,726 votes, Lawal defeated Matawalle of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who received 311,976 votes, to win the election.
