The women’s 100m hurdles were won by Oluwatobiloba Ayomide “Tobi Express” Amusan at the Diamond League in Eugene, Oregon, USA.

Amusan won the Diamond League title for the third time in a row on Sunday evening, crossing the finish line in 12.33 seconds in a very close race.

The Diamond League is a yearly series of top track and field athletic tournaments that includes fourteen of the best invitational athletics meetings. The series is ranked first in the World Athletics one-day meeting events.

In 2021, Amusan won gold by running 12.42 seconds (an African record at the time) at the Weltklasse Zürich.

In 2022, she successfully defended her title with a time of 12.29 seconds.

The Athletics Integrity Unit issued a provisional suspension to Amusan for three whereabouts failures.

“Express” had a dismal performance, her poorest in years, despite a suspension that was just released hours before the World Championships in Budapest.

She will not, however, match her success in Eugene, where she established the World record fastest time of 12.12 seconds last year.

Jasmine Camacho-Quinn (Tokyo 2020 Olympic gold champion) and Kendra Harrison (former World record holder) finished second and third, respectively.
