VP Shettima selects Baba-Ahmed as a political advisor, breaking

Vice President Shettima has selected Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed as his Special Adviser (Political).

A well-known person in Nigerian politics and education, Dr. Baba-Ahmed, shared the good news on his social media accounts.

It is time to make it public that I have accepted the call to serve as Special Adviser (Political) to the VP, @KShettim .This is not the time for fence-sitting or criticism when you can be useful in turning the country round. I am honored and humbled. Please pray for me & Nigeria

In his statement, Dr. Baba-Ahmed said, “I have accepted the request to serve as Special Adviser (Political) to the VP, @KShettim. It is time to make this public. When you have the opportunity to help the nation turn around, now is not the time to sit on the fence or voice criticism. I feel grateful and humbled. Say a prayer for me and for Nigeria.

Given that Dr. Baba-Ahmed is the older brother of Datti Baba-Ahmed, the Labour Party’s vice presidential candidate in the 2023 presidential election, the appointment of Dr. Baba-Ahmed has additional significance.

He formerly held the position of Northern Elders Forum spokesperson, where he displayed a profound knowledge of the political landscape of the nation.
