A 36-year-old guy is detained by police for allegedly raping a neighbor’s wife.

Investigations revealed that the suspect had a black face mask on and was carrying a knife, which he used to intimidate the victim into complying with his demands.
Ja’afar Adamu, 36, was detained by the Police Command in Adamawa for reportedly raping a 21-year-old neighbor’s wife at the Anguwan Diocese Kala’a in the Hong Local Government Area.
This information was provided by SP Suleiman Nguroje, command PPRO, in a statement released on Tuesday in Yola. According to Nguroje, the suspect was detained on September 15.
“The defendant was alleged to have forcedfully had an undue carnal knowledge of the victim on the same occasion, about Noon, after noticing his wife’s spouse was away at the farm.
According to the investigation, the suspect was carrying a knife and wearing a black face mask when he threatened the victim to comply with his demands.
“Unfortunately for him upon committing the act his mask fell off, haven been recognised by the victim, and he fled away through the window,” he said.
The victim’s husband, according to him, reported the event to the Divisional Police Headquarters in Kala’a. Nguroje claimed that Afolabi Babatola, the commissioner of police, disapproved of the obnoxious incidence and gave the Family Support Unit officer the go-ahead to take care of the inquiry and make sure that the offender was promptly prosecuted.
The police chief, who expressed sympathy to the victim’s husband over the tragic situation, also urges the public to support the command’s efforts to combat all types of gender-based violence.
