There will be another release in 2023, and this time, the big screens will get the first taste.
Kenneth Gyang is currently working on a new feature.
The project, This is Lagos, which depicts the hustle and bustle of living in a metropolis like Lagos, follows the tale of Stevo, a young man chasing superstardom in a city full of masked individuals in one form or another.
Gyang, well known for his work on Oloture, is the director of his most recent project, which was created in association with Tom Rowlands-Rees and Jide Makinde. This production took more than ten years to construct, thanks to the collaboration of Gyang and Rowlad-Rees, who transformed a short narrative by Crispin Oduobuk-Mfon Abasi into the content of This is Lagos.
Ikechukwu Onunaku, Rahama Sadau, Kate Henshaw, Enyinna Nwigwe, Sani Muazu, David Jones David, Greg Ojefua, Mike Afolarin, Jibrin Homsuk, and Laura Pepple are among the cast members, who are led by Gabriel Afolayan in the character of Stevo.
In addition, Gyang explained why this project is meaningful to him despite the fact that he has produced other works in the past. This is Lagos is my love letter, a personal endeavour, he declared. Although I have previously finished two films, this one is a loving tribute to Lagos. As someone who is thoroughly ingrained in the character of the city, I wanted to depict Lagos in all its authentic glory.
This is Lagos, which promises to be a feature-length comedy and drama, is anticipated to hit theatres in December 2023.
Although its cinematic premiere is months away, we eagerly anticipate additional information like the official poster and its trailer.
